If your surface is already coated with varnish or a protective finish, simply sand it lightly before painting to ensure proper adhesion. For this demonstration, I’ll be working on an old wooden frame with naturally worn paint, but you can use any forgotten object you’d like to refresh — or even a brand-new unfinished wooden piece.
